At ILTACON 2025: Agentic AI Was Everywhere. So Were Fragmented Workflows

By Sharri Wilner

Walking the ILTACON exhibit floor this year, three things stood out.

  1. GenAI is the baseline – Every product I saw — startup or incumbent — was built on GenAI. It’s no longer a differentiator; it’s simply expected.
  2. Agents, agents, agents – The question wasn’t whether a product had GenAI, but how agentic it was. Nearly everything had workflows baked in, promising to move beyond assistance and toward automation.
  3. Tools are still narrow – Even with all that AI, most products only handled slices of a workflow. In litigation, I saw deposition-summary tools that could surface contradictions in testimony live during a deposition. It was compelling, but it’s still just one small piece of the EDRM.

Contracts show the same split: tools focused on pre-execution (drafting, negotiation) or post-execution (obligations, analytics), but rarely both. True end-to-end solutions remain rare. That’s the opportunity I kept coming back to: stitching these applications together into something that feels seamless. That’s when AI will truly transform how legal work gets done.

We’ve Been Here Before

At Gravity Stack, we’ve been telling clients for years that this wave was coming. Our 2023 rebrand was designed to send a signal: AI isn’t hype, it’s the paradigm shift of our lifetime. Earlier this year, we put it plainly: Legal AI is no longer coming. It is here.

And now, what I saw at ILTACON confirms the next phase is already underway. As Bryon wrote in Shifting Our Attention From AI Assistants to AI Agents, the story is no longer about assistants that support discrete tasks — it’s about agents that can dynamically manage entire workflows.

Why This Matters for Clients

The ILTACON floor showed how fast the market is moving, but also how fragmented it remains. Powerful tools exist, but they don’t yet connect into holistic solutions.

That’s where Gravity Stack comes in. We help clients evaluate the noise, bridge the gaps, and integrate AI where it creates real value across the legal lifecycle.
